Adventure Activities

Here at Ligonier Camp, we design our Adventure Program around the experiential education design. The experiences we cultivate promote relational growth and reflection as well as individual growth. Everything we do has purpose for you and your group. We structure days from 9am-4pm for a full day of adventure. That includes a morning of team-building and initiatives, followed by an afternoon of a high ropes experience (participants must be 12 years or older in the calendar year). We are also able to accommodate a half-day experiential education experience, if that is a better fit for your group.

Our adventure education program is one of the most diverse in western Pennsylvania, with an incredible variety of activities, professional staff, and the ability to tailor our program to your group. Team Building and Climbing Activities

Our Team Building and Climbing Activities are for those aged 8 and older and are aimed to encourage the development of trust, teamwork, and selflessness among the group members to create an environment of mutual support. We encourage participants to challenge themselves as well as provide opportunities to apply wilderness experiences to life. All of this occurs while encouraging effective communication among participants and keeping participants safe emotionally and physically throughout their adventure activities.

Featured

Dual Zip-line

Our 1100 ft dual zip-line is a flagship experience of our adventure program. Scale the telephone climb and race a partner to the bottom, with gorgeous views of the valley as you fly down the cable.
Ages 12 and up.

Laser Tag

Looking for a high-energy experience for your next outing? Try outdoor laser tag! Our laser taggers are able to be used at distances of up to 200 ft in broad daylight. While we have a laser tag course on property complete with bunkers and obstacles, the taggers are portable and can be used anywhere.
Ages 8 and up.

Team Building & Initiatives

These activities are team and trust-building activities. Typically, the team is presented with an objective, necessary restrictions, and details, and are expected to work as a team to meet said objective or goal. While serving the purpose to create a strong community among participants, these activities are fun and create wonderful memories.
Ages 8 and up.

Tree Climbing

Test your skills, either solo or with a partner, with a 40-foot climb on a gorgeous white pine.
Ages 12 and up.

High Ropes Course

Our high ropes course features a 40 ft cargo net climb, 6 main elements, and a quick jump descent from the top! It is both a challenge and a reward for everyone that completes it. Please note: there is a weight limit of 250lbs for this course.
Ages 12 and up.

Pamper Jump

A tried and true high ropes experience, the Pamper Jump is a great challenge. Scale the staple climb on the tree and test your grit as you jump for the hanging bouy.
Ages 12 and up.

Outdoor Climbing Tower

Our climbing tower offers a challenge to both individuals and teams. This four-sided 50-foot tower overlooks the Ligonier Valley and provides four different climbing options, including the crux. Ages 8 and up.

Indoor Rock Room

Enjoy indoor climbing no matter what the weather with four different routes that will be sure to challenge you.
Ages 8 and up.

Indoor Bouldering

Completed in the spring of 2012, our indoor bouldering room is housed next to the rock room, and serves as a great place to hone your climbing skills!
Ages 8 and up.

Vomit Comet

Ready for a rush? Try the aptly named Vomit Comet: a gigantic 120-foot pendulum swing. Get pulled up to the release point by your team members and then pull the rip chord to swing out over the ravine over 100 ft in the air. Participants can choose how high they are pulled up and can be clipped in the back of their harness or the front. No matter what, you're in for a great ride!
Ages 12 and up.

Flying Squirrel

Another high-flying experience, the Flying Squirrel features a participant harnessed to a rope run through a pulley while team members hold tight to the other end of the rope. On the signal, both ends run in opposite directions, quickly flying the participant 70 feet into the air.
Ages 12 and up.
